Need some help here....

I don't have anything to write about. Nothing. That's why no one has heard a peep from me since before Christmas. I can't even conjure up a witty comment.

I was at a book signing with a friend the other night and I realized that lately I've been doing so much reading that all of my ideas are someone elses.

Here's my quandry.

I don't have an original thought in my head, no one wants to hear about my holidays or resolutions, nothing worth writing about or reading about has been going on lately and I am struggling to come up with something to hold my attention for more than 30 seconds.

My friend that I was at the book signing with challenged me when she said if you give her a topic and an audience, she could write all day about anything. So that is when I decided to see if I was on par with other people who seem to never run out of stuff to say.

So I'm asking for your help.

Give me topics!

I don't care what it is. Anything...seriously. I got nothing on my own. I know...I'm a loser. Help a sister out.

Do you have any piercings or tats you want to let us in on? ;^)

Is this why your are in such a pissy mood? You have no inspiration? I'm sorry I didn't ask about your resolutions, I assume quitting smoking wasn't one of them. Since you are out of material I can give you a story on one of my favorite subjects, ME, to write about.

Your kids must be doing something you could write about!

Sorry to take so long to respond. I'm just getting caught up on my blog reading... and I know you've posted some things since this post, but in case you're still looking for ideas, I'm drunk and I have lots of them. :)

(Forgive me if you've blogged about some of these already; I'm a fairly new reader and can barely keep up with the new stuff, so I haven't read all your archives.)

Here are a few suggestions that I bet you could turn into fascinating stuff. Probably much more fascinating than anything I've written to date!

First, I second SkylersDad's suggestion about piercings and tats -- always fun to hear about.

You could read along with the Pulitzer Project book I'm doing -- Gilead -- and give us a review.

Or tell us about a different book you've read and liked / hated.

You could tell us about your favorite pet.... or your least favorite!

Did you have a favorite teacher in school? Or one you hated?

Tell us about a sentimental moment with one of your kids.

Tell us about something one of your kids did to annoy you.

Did you participate in a senior prank in high school? How about a senior field trip?

What was the worst thing that ever happened to you on a vacation?

What is the best place you've ever visited?

What is your favorite holiday? Your least favorite?

Who is your craziest relative?

How do you feel about shoes? Are you like Imelda Marcos, or like my husband (he owns three pair -- dress shoes (obvious): old sneakers (for yardwork); new sneakers (for everything in between).

What happened at work last week that peeved you?

Who is your favorite blogger, and why?

Tell us a joke you've heard recently.

What is your favorite song, lately?

Tell us about a person person / group you've seen in concert but are embarrassed to admit -- was it a great show?

What would you do if you won $84 million in the lottery?

How do you feel about gay marriage?
Abortion? The war in Iraq? Afghanistan? The current state of education in our country? Religion? What do you like / dislike about a specific religion (pick one: Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Mormonism, Hinduism.... whatever interests you).

How are you faring in this awful economy?

Have you ever been arrested?

What is your favorite movie?

Have you seen any new movies lately? Love 'em or hate 'em?

Do you like to play drinking games? Did you in college / high school? What is the best drinking game you've ever played?

Alright, I admit I should be arrested for drunk commenting or something. But this is the best I can do after three glasses of wine on a weeknight...

Happy blogging, and I'll look forward to some (more) fun stories soon. :)
